PotASH
Part of the Southern Hemisphere Assessment of PalaeoEnvironments (SHAPE) International Focus Group
funded by the International Union for Quaternary Scientists (INQUA)

We aim to bring together dryland palaeolake researchers and facilitate the exchange of training, skills and expertise, facilities, and equipment.

Key Project Goals

RESEARCH COMMUNITY

To provide an online forum and international network of dryland palaeolake researchers and facilitate the exchange of training, skills and expertise, facilities and equipment..
PROJECT MEMBERS

DATABASE CREATION

To develop a usable database of published southern hemisphere hydroclimate records and existing climate models to help identify the timing, intensity and spatial extent of environmental perturbations and transitions.

MODEL DATA COMPARISONS

To test climate mechanism hypotheses and identify key regions where there is a lack of data or poor model-data agreement to enable the research community to focus its future efforts more strategically.
